Thanks for the great review! Just a note about the “evangelism” in the first chapter—that’s meant to be used to sell Plone in your institution. It’s been my experience that selling your superiors on the system is an important first step in many organizations.

incidentally, on the buildout front, we’re working on an alternate packaging approach that avoids buildout’s design pitfalls: https://weblion.psu.edu/trac/weblion/wiki/PackagingPlone. I’m also contributing to distutils2, intended to be the next generation of Python’s packaging toolkit. Among other things, it will ease the creation of more fail-safe packaging tools than easy_install.

If you chop some fresh cilantro leaves finely and mix them into the guacamole, it will be much better in my opinion.

Hey Matthew, thanks for the info.

But I recall some problems with the plone.recipe.zope2instance and zope2-location, since now Zope is provided as an egg (as far as I’ve understood). Anyway, I’ll try again to install Plone 4 with the plone3_buildout skeleton as you suggest. :)
